Today I went to Turtle Bay to see how high the river is and to also walk across the river on the new bridge they recently completed on Highway 44. It rained and rained this morning but by mid afternoon the weather was quite nice--55 degrees out, beautiful clouds with a background of a gorgeous blue sky. Exhilarating!
This is the Sun Dial Bridge. It was getting late in the afternoon and so it really wasn't light enough to take the best pictures.
This shot was taken halfway across the Sun Dial Bridge looking west.
Another shot from halfway across Sun Dial Bridge, but looking east.
This is at the beginning of the Sun Dial Bridge looking to the left.
This photograph was taken crossing the new bridge. There is an eagle's nest in the middle tree. Two eaglets hatched this week--both are doing great. The last two years the eagle couple have had three eaglets each year. They all made it to maturity, which is a rare thing to happen. This is a super eagle family!
This is what the bridge walkway looks like as you cross the bridge going east. It is a beautiful bridge!
This is another picture of the walkway going east.
About halfway across the river this is the view looking towards the northeast. It's absolutely beautiful!
Here I am looking south across the freeway.
I am headed back across the river going west. It was a wonderful walk, a wonderful day!
